Group trips in Argentina

Buenos Aires, Patagonia and the Iguazú falls: enormous distances that shrink with a group.

⏱ Typical length: 14–21 days💶 Budget: medium🏔️ Adventure🏛️ Culture✈️ Mixed

Argentina is a country the size of half of Europe: Buenos Aires with tango and parrillas, the Patagonia of the Perito Moreno glacier and the Fitz Roy towers at El Chaltén, Ushuaia at the end of the world, the Iguazú falls on the Brazilian border, and in the north-west Salta and the coloured valleys.

As a group the domestic flights (which cost) are easier to absorb and cars are shared in Patagonia, where public transport is scarce. The trip lends itself to separate stops: some join only Patagonia, some only Buenos Aires and Iguazú.

When to go

November–March for Patagonia (southern summer, the only useful season for trekking); Buenos Aires is at its best in the southern spring and autumn (September–November, March–May). Iguazú works all year; the north-west from April to November.

Don't miss

💡 The group tip

Book domestic flights with Aerolíneas or the low-cost carriers as soon as you have dates: they are the item that rises most. In El Calafate a car split four ways costs less than organised glacier excursions and frees your schedule.

Documents and entry

Entry rules depend on your nationality and change over time: always check your foreign office before booking. The official source for Italian citizens is linked below.

Frequently asked questions

How many days for Argentina?

Two weeks for Buenos Aires, Patagonia (Calafate, Chaltén) and Iguazú; three to add Ushuaia or the north-west. Distances impose flights: better few long stops.

Do I need a visa for Argentina?

Most European citizens enter visa-free for tourism with a valid passport. Check your foreign office.

Is Argentina expensive?

Prices swing a lot with the exchange rate: food and lodging are often good value, domestic flights and Patagonia less so. Groups share cars and houses, and cover the distances with less stress.
