💡 The group tip
Night trains Bangkok–Chiang Mai and island ferries fill up: book together and early. On the islands a shared villa costs as much as three rooms and comes with a pool.
Documents and entry
Passport required (valid for at least 6 months). Visa exemption for short tourist stays. The online TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) is mandatory and must be filled in within the 3 days before arrival — it includes the health section.

When is the best time for a group trip to Thailand?
Between November and February the weather is dry almost everywhere. If you can only travel in summer, pick the Gulf islands (Samui, Tao) and the north: the monsoon mostly hits the Andaman coast.
Do I need a visa for Thailand?
Most European citizens enter visa-free for short tourist stays. Allowed durations change: check your foreign office before leaving and fill in the digital arrival card if required.
