Group trips in the Philippines

El Nido lagoons, whale sharks and endless islands: Asia's most beautiful sea, by boat with friends.

โฑ Typical length: 12โ€“18 days๐Ÿ’ถ Budget: low๐Ÿ–๏ธ Relax๐Ÿ”๏ธ Adventure๐ŸŽ’ Backpacking

The Philippines are seven thousand islands and the trip is one island after another: Palawan with El Nido and Coron, Cebu with waterfalls and whale sharks, Siargao for surf, Bohol for the Chocolate Hills. English is spoken everywhere and the people are among the warmest on the continent.

As a group the Philippine sea becomes affordable: bangka excursions are priced per boat, and a private island-hopping trip for eight costs as much as a crowded tour. With few days you join only Palawan; with three weeks you do the full loop.

December to May is the dry season; Marchโ€“April are the hottest, clearest months. From July to October the typhoon risk is high, especially in the north and centre.

Don't miss

๐Ÿ’ก The group tip

Book domestic flights well in advance: you fly between islands often and seats run out. In El Nido hire a private boat for the group: you pick the lagoons and the timing, away from the crowds.

Documents and entry

Entry rules depend on your nationality and change over time: always check your foreign office before booking. The official source for Italian citizens is linked below.

Frequently asked questions

How many days for the Philippines?

Two weeks for Palawan and Cebu; three to add Siargao or Bohol. Distances between islands mean flights or long ferries: better few moves and stops of four or five days.

Do I need a visa for the Philippines?

Most European citizens enter visa-free for short tourist stays with an onward ticket. Check duration and current rules with your foreign office.

Are the Philippines cheap?

Daily life and lodging are cheap; domestic flights and boat trips weigh more, but boats are split by the group. One of the best value beach destinations anywhere.
